Chubb Canberra Safe
The Chubb Canberra Safe is an Australian designed and manufactured security safe, developed to provide dependable protection for cash, important documents and other valuables against both burglary and fire. Designed specifically with homes and small businesses in mind, the Canberra combines substantial Chubb construction with practical security features in a compact commercial-grade safe.
The safe features an exceptionally substantial 104mm thick door, with hardened plate protecting the vital components of the locking mechanism and boltwork. The body incorporates solid fire and thief-resistant material contained between an outer steel plate and inner steel lining, producing an overall body thickness of more than 86mm.
Security is provided by two-way round boltwork operated by a Chubb 6-lever key safe lock. A three-wheel keyless combination lock with 1,000,000 possible combinations was also available as an optional locking configuration. An emergency glass-activated relocking device provides secondary protection, designed to secure the boltwork if the primary locking area comes under attack.
Fire protection is incorporated throughout the entire body and door, using fire-resistant material with high thermal insulation properties. The safe’s welded and reinforced construction provides strength and rigidity, while provision for securely fixing the safe to a cement or timber floor helps prevent unauthorised removal.
Heavy-duty hinges allow the door to open approximately 160°, providing excellent access to the interior. A fixed internal shelf can also be fitted for convenient organisation of cash, documents and valuables.
Finished in the original metallic biscuit colour with stainless-steel trim and a satin-finished handle, the Chubb Canberra combines classic Australian Chubb styling with serious physical security.
